Music Talk Interview with Marius Bear

Last week, Alex met Appenzell singer-songwriter Marius Bear in the Gustav Biergarten at Bierhübeli GmbH in Bern.

Marius Bear, whose real name is Marius Hügli, was born on April 21, 1993 in Schlatt-Haslen in the canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden. He discovered his musical talent during his military service and decided to start his career as a street musician in Switzerland and Germany in 2016. A significant turning point in his career was an invitation from a producer to New York, which enabled him to enter the Swiss music scene.

In 2017, he studied music production at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute (BIMM) in London and released his first album “Not Loud Enough” in 2019, which reached number 20 in the Swiss charts. His song “Boys Do Cry” brought him international fame when he represented Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 and reached the final.

Marius, who has his musical roots as a street musician, feels most comfortable when he is on stage and can make music. For lovers of intimate concerts, there is always the opportunity to enjoy Marius Bear and his art in smaller venues. A special highlight is coming up on June 6 in the Bernese Oberland when Marius Bear performs as the headliner at the Music Days Steffisburg.

For all fans of authentic music and thrilling live performances, this is an event not to be missed.
