From time to time we receive error messages from ‘Sonos’ operators who receive the error ‘Unable to browse music files’.
In most cases, these companies are still using an old Sonos controller version (S1).
Although our channels and the authentication method are error-free, Sonos itself no longer supports certain services on the old controllers.
What can I do?
Use the current controller on a tablet/mobile phone. The controller on Mac/Windows usually does not support our service (anymore). There is now also a web-based controller at https://play.sonos.com, with which you can also use all our channels.
DMD2 Music can be received in various ways – depending on the technical infrastructure and customer requirements:
DMD2 Music Player (hardware box)
Our preconfigured players are connected directly to your audio system and the Internet. It works reliably, can be controlled centrally and is also offline-capable.
Web browser / web app
Ideal for a quick start: music can be streamed directly via a standard browser on any computer or tablet – no additional hardware required.
Mobile app (iOS & Android)
With our app, you can conveniently control music, volume, announcements or playlists from your smartphone or tablet – for maximum flexibility.
Integration into existing systems
DMD2 Music can also be integrated into existing digital signage or media systems via open interfaces (e.g. API, streaming URL, player software).
Cloud-based multi-location solution
We offer a central cloud control system for chain stores: music, volume, schedules and announcements can be managed individually or uniformly for each store.
Our solution is scalable: whether 1 or 500 locations – with the central control system you can keep an overview. On request, we can supply an individual music profile for each location.
Yes, you can switch to a different type of reception at any time – for example from web streaming to a player – depending on technical developments or requirements.
An Internet connection is normally required. However, there are options for backup playlists in certain players. If the internet connection fails, the music continues to play there without interruption – legally compliant and stable.
We offer both GEMA/SUISA-compliant and royalty-free music – depending on your wishes and requirements. We will be happy to advise you on the best solution.
Yes and no. DMD2 Music takes care of the legal protection and advises you transparently on the license models.
All you have to do is obtain a performance license from GEMA/SUISA (the local collecting society). This is very easy to do online.
Internet access and an audio device (e.g. loudspeaker system) are usually sufficient. If required, we can provide player hardware or integrate our solution into existing systems.
You get access to our user-friendly web portal for controlling music and announcements – centrally or per branch.
Our players are offline-capable. The music continues to play reliably even if the network is interrupted.
Yes, our German and English-speaking support team is available on weekdays and optionally 24/7 – depending on the service package.
For single locations, you can simply take out your DMD2 Music subscription online and get started straight away. For multiple locations, it often takes just a few days. Depending on your location and technical requirements, we will coordinate the installation with you individually.
We offer flexible contract models with different terms to suit your needs. Our experience shows that our customers stay for a very long time and also want long-term contracts.
